Religious Roots of Europe (RRE)
Religious Roots of Europe (RRE) is a two-year Nordic Master’s programme offered by the Centre for Theology and Religious Studies at Lund University in cooperation with five other Nordic universities (Aarhus, Bergen, Copenhagen, Helsinki and Oslo).
Christianity, Islam and Judaism all originated in the Middle East, but have grown to become the religious roots of contemporary Europe.
This programme goes to the roots and explores how the religions grew out of the deserts and cities of the Mediterranean. The three traditions have not lived isolated lives, but moved in the gravitational fields of the others; they have been inspired by one another and tried to distance themselves from each other. In this programme they are studied not separately but together. And because history is not only about the past – but also about the past that lives in us – the religions are even studied in a contemporary light.
Religious Roots of Europe (RRE) är ett tvåårigt masterprogram som ges av Centrum för Teologi och Religionsvetenskap vid Lunds universitet, tillsammans med fem andra nordiska universitet (Bergen, Helsingfors, Köpenhamn, Oslo och Århus).
Undervisningsspråket är engelska, och hela Norden är campus. Studenterna samarbetar tvärsöver kultur- och landgränser.
Det här programmet går till rötterna och undersöker hur religionerna växte fram ur öknar och städer vid Medelhavet. De tre traditionerna har inte levt isolerade liv, utan rört sig i varandras spänningsfält, inspirerats av varandra och tagit avstånd från varandra. I detta program studeras de inte var för sig, utan tillsammans. Och eftersom historia inte enbart handlar om det förflutna – utan också om det förflutna som lever i oss – studeras religionerna även i ett samtida ljus.
